Dear California Chapter Members,
One of my goals during my presidency is to keep you up to date regarding all of the happenings with the California Chapter and get members more involved. What’s new? Let’s take a look:
We have a NEW logo! Please take a look at our new logo. It was designed by one of our members who serves on the membership committee – Rhonda Lindsey. Our board felt it incorporated many aspects of the state flag of California. That includes the white, green, and red colors of the flag. Of course, the grizzly bear which was drawn from Todd’s Bear Flag and adopted onto the state flag in 1911. Also included is a surfboard which is so often associated with the beaches that line the west side of the state from Pelican State Beach in the north to Imperial Beach in the south. The red surfboard fin is a nod to the red in the star and bottom stripe on the state flag.
If you have not taken a look at the revised California Chapter website, I would encourage you to do so. You can view it here: afcc-ca.org. The site contains a bevy of information and allows you to register for all of our events.
