The offerings at our 2027 Conference have been set! The conference will be held on February 5 – 7, 2027. We will be announcing a bevy of interesting topics which total more than 17 hours of continuing education. I will be featuring the topics in this newsletter over the next few months. Let’s begin with 2 of our Friday institutes. A 4 hour training regarding domestic violence will be led by two past AFCC-CA presidents and a nationally known educator on the topic. The training will cover new legislation in the area of domestic violence and satisfy the continuing education requirements for child custody evaluators in California. The training will be led by the Honorable Mark Juhas, Mike Kretzmer CFLS AAML, and Robin M. Deutsch, Ph.D.

Another institute will be led by Jennifer Harrison Ph.D., Leslie Drozd, Ph.D., and Deborah Wald JD CFLS. It will also be a 4 hour training session titled: “Bridge to Nowhere: When Parent-Child Relationships were Never Built and What to Do About It.” A topic that is no doubt so timely and important for our field.

We are pleased to offer you for September’s webinar: Parent-Child Contact Problems: What it is (complex) and What it Isn’t (parental alienation). The webinar will be held on September 16th at Noon PDT and will feature Philip M. Stahl, Ph.D. who will discuss the process of identifying and understanding parent-cild contact problems. It is sure to be informative and a great way to get your continuing education.  Members pay only $30.00 while others pay $50.00. Please stay tuned for future webinar presentations. – Register now for this session at this link.

As always I am encouraging all of our members to apply to our directories.  This benefit of membership is a great way to promote your practice or find experts in all areas of the state.  We have them for child custody evaluators on this page, mental health mediators here, parenting plan coordinators here, and court involved therapists at this page.

Best,

Susan C. Rempel, Ph.D.
